Things I LOVE Thursday!

I haven't posted a "Things I Love Thursday" in a little while so I thought I would share this one...

I am a home body of sorts. I love being home and doing things around the house, in the garden, amongst the flowers. Don't get me wrong, I love the chances I get to be out and about also, but I am not the type of person who likes to be on the run ALL THE TIME....just not for me.

I LOVE lazy days of just milling about the yard and playing with the kids, the dogs, and the cats. Caleb is such an animal LOVER!! I was able to grab of couple of pics of him just laying around on the grass with the dogs. This pic is my favorite the dogs are actually hugging each other...you can see their paws are interlocked with each other..funny huh? They are great dogs and let the kids just do anything to them! Caleb loves to lay on the ground with them while they love on him with their kisses and nudging.

Things I Love Thursday!

Okay so here is what I LOVE this week.....Caleb has been wanting a kitty forever!!! So when aunt Christa and uncle Nate had some new found furry things in their barn they were more than willing to part with some of them so they gave us a call and we went to pick one up....Notice I said "One"??? Well we came home with TWO...maybe you are beginning to notice a pattern when we get babies around here???? My husband is.....Here is Caleb (in the back) and Zach hanging out with the kittens in the barn when we brought them home....why they felt the need to get into the little cage, I'm not sure?? But they look so cute doing don't they??

Here is Zach's little kitten, her name is "Snowball"...don't ask me why, it just worked out that way. She is one of those really fuzzy haired kitty's...I LOVE THEM!!
Here is Caleb's little gem, her name is "Rosabell". I have no idea where he came up with that name but he thought it fit her perfect since she was a girl and all.....he's so cute with her he just loves on her constantly and adores everything she does...just like I do with my babies when I bring them home :)
The other pics were taken right about 2 weeks ago maybe. When we first brought them home I wasn't sure how the puppies would do with them...like have them for lunch or a midnight snack or something.....Well as you can see I think they have all adjusted quite nicely to each other....I got this shot Tuesday of them napping together in the sun. Is that not sweet?

Things I Love Thursday!

It's Thursday already...Whew I can harldy believe it!!! I love sharing with you things I love each week, I hope you enjoy it and feel like you get to know me a little more each week as I share!
This week the thing I chose to share might come as a little shock to you all...it did me at first. Well first you should know that when I was newly married (age 20) I thought I would never be once of those mom who drove a mini van...I was way to cool for that. I would always have some great looking SUV of some sort to haul around my crew...Well after our first son was born, maybe even before that I can't remember exactly, I got my SUV a pretty blue Expedition!!!! LOVED IT...loved everything about it..so did hubby for that matter. So a few years passed and then kid son number two came and when he was about 6 months old we started to think maybe a different vehicle would work better for us. Also we knew we wanted more kids and a third car seat in the back seat wouldn't work..plus we liked the idea of being able to haul more people along with us. So we bought a MINI VAN much to my demise....but I ended up loving it much to my surprise :) So we drove that van until it had nothing left in it....so two weeks ago yesterday we found our new vehicle. We had been looking for this certain vehicle for 6 months because we knew time was running out for the poor mini van. Sooooo here it is the feature thing I LOVE this week.

Okay so catch your breath a little bit...Yes it is a 15 passenger van....Yes it is HUGE!!..Yes it has more seating than we need.....Yes it is crazy to think of me driving a passenger van when I thought I wouldn't be caught dead driving a mini van........It's pretty though isn't it????......Ya know I love everything about it!!! I LOVE that I sit up so high when I drive it...I LOVE all the windows I can see great when I drive it...I LOVE that I have a radio that actually works and PLUS a CD player (I'm high timing it I know!!)....I LOVE the fact that now I will be able to go pick up friends to come play with the boys...or pick up my mil and sil and hit some garage sales together!!!.....I LOVE the red color!!!....Lastly I LOVE that it's paid for!!!! So call me crazy, I realize not everyone will share my endearing enthusiasm about my van, but I thank the Lord for providing us with a safe vehicle that was in our budget..... Enjoy your Thursday!

Things I Love Thursday!

Time for me to share another "Thing I Love"!!! Join us for some more fun at Sarah's blog. While at the Women's Retreat , (I told you about it last week) we gave the women these cookbooks!!! I was SOOOOO excited about this little surprise we had for them!!! Well it wasn't a total surprise, each woman submitted a recipe to us then with all of Lindsay's hard work this was the end result.......55 simple an easy recipes!!!! The requirements for the recipes....only 5-7 ingredients and only 15-20 minutes prep.......We have breakfast recipes, biscuits, cookies, chicken recipes, side dishes, desserts.....I just LOVE it!!!

Here is EASY CHICKEN DUMPLINGS from Jocelyn. I adapted the recipe a bit (I used regular rolls and stuffed them with chicken and cheese, then added the broth and 1 can of soup)because I didn't have a few of the things the recipe called for.....it still turned out great and my kids just kept saying how "I was the best mom ever for making such a yummy supper." I LOVE it when they get so excited about something so simple to make :) I plan on sharing with you all the fun new recipes I got in my cookbook in the next few weeks. Here is the recipe is case you'd like to make it: Easy Chicken Dumplings
2-cooked chicken breasts (cut each into 4 squares...8 total)
1 pckg cresesnt roll (8 rolls)
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 - 3/4 cup chicken broth
salt and pepper
Directions: Roll each piece of chicken into 1 cresent roll. Place in a 8x10 pan. Spread soups evenly over the dumplings. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Pour chicken broth on top of the dumplings. Bake @ 350 for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.

It's Thursday...so time again to share something I love!!! Well by the pic you can probably tell I LOVE good smelling candles!!! I think my favorite smells for spring are lilac, gardenia, honeydew melon, and strawberry! Things I Love Thursday!

Well the thing I LOVE this Thursday is end of the season BARGAINS!!!! I got all four of these shirts and the pair of earrings that is barely visible with the white shirt at MAURICES (my favorite store) for only $16.00!!!!! That is $4 for each shirt and the earrings FREE!!!!!!!!!

It's hard to see in the picture but there is a pretty string of pearls that runs around the neckline. The earrings are actually a dark purple stone drop earring....
You can save alot of money when you buy clothes at the end of a season! I know you don't get much time to wear them now but next season you can have some great new clothes to wear!!!!!!
I am really excited because two of the shirts I got are sleeveless so I can wear them this spring summer, fall, and winter too if I put a cute sweater over them!!!! You might want to avoid anything to trendy if you want to invest your money wisely and be able to wear them again next season......at least consider that while choosing clothes!!

Things I Love Thursday!

Something I LOVE is camping!!! I love the fact that this is a hobby we can do as a family!!! When we are camping we get to spend lots of uninterrupted quality family time together. The everyday distracts of housework, schoolwork, and chores are thrown out the window and we get to go relax (although with 4 kiddos it isn't always relaxing), and then my favorite part of the night is setting around the fire and roasting marshmellows for the "must have" smores!!! Then when the kiddos are in bed Justin and I cherish the time spent around the fire with family talking about everything from politics, to work, to recalling old family stories; you name and we've probably talked about it.
Maybe I should also clarify that my kind of camping with 4 kids is in a 30' travel trailer with heat, A/C, bathroom, microwave, you know the real "roughin' it kind" :)
What do you LOVE???? Feel free to link up to http://8-muddyboots.blogspot.com and chime in, or if you aren't sure how to do it just leave a comment here!!

Things I Love Thursday!

Well I think this sounds so fun to share things we LOVE each week...it's so easy to get caught up being so busy that we forget to stop and smell the roses......If you want to see more posts on what people love each week head over to http://8-muddyboots.blogspot.com to check it out!!!
I LOVE the chance to sit down and read a good book. Beverly Lewis is one of my favorite authors!!! She writes Christian books mainly based on the Amish community. I have read all her books, and right now I reading her newest series (I am on book number 2 in that series). I really don't have lots of extra time for reading and before I started this new book I figured up it had been a least 2 years since I HAD read a good book!!! So that is when I thought it was about time I MADE time to start a book.....I LOVE how a book will just take you away from all the days happenings and lead you on a far off adventure. This love of books I am trying to pass onto our children, there is nothing more exciting for a child that a trip using their imagination!!!! My Lance is a book lover as well....he eats up a good book in a matter of days!!! LOVE IT!!!
